BJ lost two of her three sons to suicide and has worked tirelessly over the last two decades to help those in her community and beyond to assist those who have lost someone to suicide; teaching others to help those in crisis, and speaking/presenting in the suicide prevention and postvention areas. She is a Master QPR Trainer and also serves on other boards and suicide prevention teams to provide resources and work with others in collaborative efforts to reduce suicide in our community.
