Business Description:
SNAP Sports is an acronym for Special Needs Athletes and Peers.
SNAP provides a variety of sports-based activities for persons of all ages, regardless of their individual disability at no cost to the participants (except for hockey).
Established in 2012, we are a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization run entirely by volunteers. While our programs are offered at no cost to participants, they are not without expense. SNAP is entirely funded through fundraising efforts and the generosity of our donors. It is because of these compassionate benefactors that we are able to continue providing inclusive, life-enriching sports opportunities to our athletes.
SNAP offers year-round adaptive ice skating, and seasonal ice hockey, flag football, cheerleading and a running club.
How Business Creates Value:
SNAP Sports hopes to better serve the special needs population through inclusive and adaptive sports programs. Ultimately SNAP Sports seeks to develop highly-valued members of the community, engaged in a positive way.
Our athletes often shatter the notion of commonly held limitations by accepting the challenge of more complex competitive sports. Players gain confidence and poise while becoming better equipped to manage their individual disabilities.. Athletes who participate regularly, routinely develop the essential physical and social skills needed to improve their everyday lives.
SNAP incorporates peer athletes as mentors and teammates, creating an inclusive and empowering environment. By bringing together athletes of all abilities, we foster mutual understanding, personal growth, and empathy. Each participant gains the opportunity to see the world through a different lens, building lifelong skills and meaningful connections.
How Member Creates Value:
As a member of SCV MVP's, we invite our colleagues to connect us with anyone they know who has a family member with special needs. Our program offers inclusive sports activities designed to promote socialization, build confidence, and create meaningful friendships. Together, we can help families discover new ways to engage their loved ones through the power of sport.
Join us in providing a valuable community service to a greatly underserved population.
