Business Name: R.M. Pyles Boys Camp Business Description: Founded in 1949, R.M. Pyles Boys Camp is a nonprofit youth development organization dedicated to transforming the lives of low-income, at-risk boys across Southern California. Our mission is to promote long-term positive behavioral change by building leadership, self-discipline, confidence, and life skills through immersive wilderness experiences and consistent mentorship. As an ACA-accredited camp, we comply with over 300 national safety standards, and all staff are CPR and Wilderness First Aid certified. Our work addresses critical access gaps in outdoor education, emotional development, and opportunity for historically underserved youth. How Business Creates Value: We create value by offering a multi-year, no-cost program that combines a 12-day summer camp in the Sequoia National Forest with year-round mentorship, community service, and workforce readiness. Through outdoor adventure, structured group learning, and peer leadership, our participants develop critical life competencies and build lasting relationships that contribute to their academic, personal, and career success. Many alumni return to serve as counselors, mentors, or leaders in their communities—continuing the cycle of growth and impact.
