How Member Creates Value:
In addition to providing guidance for all lines of commercial insurance, I lead my firm's cyber advisory group. Essentially what I do is help businesses evaluate their current coverages in effort to locate any potential hazards and gaps that may exist. With my twenty year background in IT, and owning my own MSP firm for eight years, I'm uniquely poised to guide businesses through the ever changing field of cyber liability and ensure that they are not only prepared for what may come, but also make them more attractive to insurers.
‘The professional David’
I'm proud to have established and operated one of the premier IT companies in the greater North Texas region for eight years, servicing hundreds of clients. Honesty and transparency are not just buzzwords to me, but the cornerstone of my foundation. I understand these tenets are key to establishing long-term relationships and building trust, in addition to ensuring my clients are comfortable and knowledgeable with any solution I provide. Looking forward is not always easy when you are in business, and I strive to create optimized solutions that extend beyond the 'now' so that future needs are also met. As an IT provider I serviced everything from small businesses to large enterprises, including many with multi-state and international operations exposure across a wide array of industries. There was no limit to my scope of services offered, which allows me to provide valuable insight and expertise into virtually every aspect of business. With over twenty years of experience preventing, combating and recovering clients from the ever-changing spectrum of cyber threats, my focus has turned to Cyber Liability. Cyber threats are one of the top adversaries of modern businesses and commerce, and proper training and awareness are paramount to minimizing the risk of becoming a victim of cyber crime. Bringing my expertise to bear, I am dedicated to creating customized solutions that not only protect your business but offer peace of mind in a complicated world.
‘The personal David’
In what I call a former lifetime, I made a living as a jazz saxophonist. I had several near misses with life changing stardom, but recognized that the landscape of what I enjoyed the most about life as a musician was changing. Pivoting from earning a music degree after stints at some of the country's best music schools, I earned a degree in forensic anthropology from Texas Tech. I never used it a day in my life. While I searched for a job in forensics, I took a short contract to work as a musician on a cruise ship. Life at sea, as it turned out, was not for me. After returning to land with no job prospects on the horizon, and student loans looming, I turned to the Geek Squad at Best Buy. With a natural aptitude for IT work, this job quickly spawned an accidental career that lasted for twenty years. In 2013 I formed my own IT firm, which became wildly successful. I remained at the helm until determining that I truly did not find the work enjoyable and no longer wished to endure the Texas heat. Selling the business and moving to Colorado to begin a new career in insurance is a move that I wish I had done sooner.
I have enough interests to fill somewhere around eight lifetimes, but enjoy pairing a good book with a robust cigar and a dark beer. Getting lost among the solitude of trails and trees is one of my favorite activities when the weather permits. And while I no longer count myself as an active musician, my creative outlet has now come in the form of writing my own novel. My hope is to have it published by the end of 2023.
