Mission and Vision Penny Lane Centers is a private 501 (c)(3) nonprofit social services agency with a mission to foster hopes and dreams by empowering children, youth, and families to reach their highest potential. Penny Lane was founded in 1969, as a group home for teenage girls. It has since grown to employ almost 700 full-time professionals serving more than 6000 clients annually throughout Los Angeles County. Our clients are referred to us by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, Los Angeles County Department of Probation, schools, community members as well as former clients. Penny Lane Centers is accredited by The Joint Commission, which is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards. In 2010, With program offices in North Hills, Commerce, North Hollywood, Palmdale and Lancaster, Penny Lane provides a wide array of therapeutic services including: Foster Care and Adoption services, Intensive Treatment Foster Care (ITFC), Adult and Early Childhood Mental Health services featuring Evidence-Based Practices and medication support, Wraparound, Residential Treatment, Vocational and Educational services, Transitional Housing, Permanent Supportive Housing for low income and at-risk families, Drop-In Centers for emancipated foster youth and homeless Transitional Age Youth- most of whom identify as LGBTQ, and LGBTQ+ Programs, including Embracing Identities, designed to help meet the needs of the LGBTQ Transitional Age Youth (TAY) population, ages 16-25.
