Business Description:
Who We Serve
Home Again L.A., formerly known as Family Promise of the Verdugos, was created over 10 years ago to support the homeless family population.
A family is defined as at least one adult and one minor child.
SITUATIONALLY HOMELESS FAMILIES
Through our combined efforts with local congregations our 90 days shelter focuses on helping situationally homeless families (first time homeless families). This demographic of families typically have become homeless at no fault of there own including lost of employment, souring medical bills, natural disaster, just to name a few.
CHRONICALLY HOMELESS FAMILIES
Through our programs such as rapid rehousing we provide aid to chronic homeless families who have been homeless at least a year — or repeatedly — while struggling with a disabling condition such as a serious mental illness, substance use disorder, or physical disability.
AT-RISK OF HOMELESSNESS
It has been through our rental assistance program in partnership with the Los Angeles County that we have had a broader reach to families who have fallen behind on rent due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Our area of focus are families from the city of Burbank and Glendale, however, as in many instances we provide assistance to any family seeking support from throughout the Los Angeles County.
How Business Creates Value:
In 2021-2022 our non-profit assisted 643 households through our various programs.
Of the 643 families, 214 unsheltered families were placed into permanent housing.
Of the 643 families, 429 families were provided the resources to maintain their housing albeit they were near eviction.
