I help clients by carefully listening, and then creating and telling a story in a legal document format. Typically, parties reach agreements, and no future problems arise. However, when a problem does arise, it is often because of an ambiguous item or matters that were never discussed or even raised. A written document more often clearly states the understandings of and actions to be taken by the parties. Importantly, in the event that a dispute occurs, there are several provisions that a mediator, arbitrator, or judge expects to be contained in a written document. In writing the story, I include such provisions that are translations into legalese that the decision maker expects to be there.
