5 Things to Do When Faced with a New Idea
1. Be Open
Keep an open mind about new ways of doing things. This doesn’t mean you have to hop on every bandwagon, but analyze the bandwagon and see if it can help you before you get on it.
2. Keep Your Eyes Open
Being open to new ideas is one thing, but to be actively looking for new ideas takes your openness to the next level. Be the project manager that discovers the new way of doing things and watch your career leap forward.
3. Be Adaptable
The ability to discover and utilize new ideas as a method of solving a problem leads directly into the need for adaptability. Necessity as the Mother of Invention is adaptability in action. Adaptability is finding new solutions to old problems. Be cool with it.
4. Be Courageous
There is a natural aversion to being willing to take the chance on something new. Project managers are all about risk avoidance and risk management. But consider the risks involved in not finding a better way to tackle an old problem. Manage risk, avoiding it outright will stifle your growth as a project manager.
5. Be Confident and Optimistic
An optimistic outlook is a great trait for any manager to acquire, and no more so than with project management. Be confident in your decision to try a new path, and share your optimistic outlook on the positive results with your fellow team members.

Awesome I’ve just made some new decisions in social media advertising that I might have strayed away from because of cost. But I’m going for it wish me luck!
